Just bought 15 Blog domain names!

.Blog domain names entered general availability today, November 21.
I registered 15 Blog domain names today and I may buy some more but these are not exactly what you might think. I bought 15 KeywordBlog.com domains.
While searching for available .blog domains I noticed a pattern. Many good keywordblog.com domains are available. So I went ahead and bought the .com domains for $10 instead of paying $30 for the .blog domains. And of course I would have to buy the corresponding .com domains also anyway!
Maybe these *****blog.com domains were available for some reason but I can't share these names because they are a (small) part of a larger project. But I can say that I bought another ****Blog.com domain a couple of months back.
I bought DigitalBlog.com for $1,770 at a GoDaddy expired auction. I intent to develop this one.
The price sure beats the digital.blog price that is available for $139,999.99 per year at GoDaddy today. Yes, DigitalBlog.com has a $10 renewal per year.
The .blog registry had a sloppy launch with will hunt .blog for many years to come. They explained that "they did what they did with reserved domains simply because they can!".
I wrote how they registered for themselves the best keywords and also reserved many names including all one, two and three character domains. I guess that didn't left that much to register in general availability and the one's that are available (like digital.blog) are sold for crazy prices.
I noticed a few other people like Michael Berkens buying .blog domains. He bought several including thedomains.blog, themedia.blog, hipster.blog and drones.blog in landrush.
Automattic, WordPress and the .blog registry are pushing .blog domains today with the help of a few registrars, including GoDaddy that issued a press release, but somehow the 250,000 registered domains by the end of 2016 goal seems unattainable.
I do like New gTLDs but I would like to think that I have not completely lost my mind yet.
When the left.right combination is available in .com then I will purchase the .com. If a lot of domains containing this left.right combination are registered in gTLDs and ccTLDs then it is the time to buy a New gTLD domain for a reasonable registration/renewal fee. (very few exceptions apply)
