My Favorite WordPress Themes

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links.

Every now and then I get the bug to redesign my blog. Okay I get the bug a lot. I'm always fighting the urge to get a new theme and play with it. But I wasn't always like this. Anyone who knew me when I first started blogging knew that I was intimidated by HTML codes.

If there was anything that had to do with HTML codes, so when I got a theme I stuck to its default options. I wasn't going to go there with the codes and I couldn't afford a web designer.

Then a couple years ago I faced my fear head on and now I'm hooked!

I can't explain it but I get this rush when I'm playing with a new theme. I guess it's the anticipation of what the finished product will look like.

Back in the day – okay not that long ago – themes were kind of basic. You had basic colors, fonts, and widgets. This meant good business for web designers because bloggers were willing to pay for a customized website.

Don't get me wrong. There is still a demand for web designers. But have you seen the themes that are available now?

The themes that are rolling out these days have all the bells and whistles to make your website stand out. And for women bloggers who want pretty, girly, and soft, they have feminine themes that require little to no customizations.

My Favorite WordPress Themes Available On StudioPress

I check StudioPress from time to time to see what new themes they've got. I can lose track of time going through them and their demos. It's like my second Pinterest, hehe.

Anyway, here is a list of my favorite WordPress themes I would love to get my hands on and customize!

Gallery Pro

Gallery Pro theme is a simple yet posh theme. It comes with a beautiful full-stretch and gallery images to show off your latest posts. There are multiple page and layout options and girly fonts to really make it pop.

Wellness Pro

Wellness Pro theme also puts the focus on images. This theme is eCommerce ready, making it easy to set up an online store. And you can change the background image and tweak other settings to fit your brand.

Market Pro Theme

The Market Pro theme has girly written all over it. This one is perfect for women bloggers. What I love are the soft colors options and feminine fonts. You can add your own custom header and has 9 widget areas.

Glam Pro Theme

Glam Pro is perfect if you like large images. This one also has soft colors and girly fonts so you really don't need to make many changes other than a custom header. This theme has three layout options and my favorite is the size of the full width. I like a wide space and this one has it.

All these themes are fully customizable. You can make any changes you wish. Plus they're mobile responsive so they'll look great on smartphones and tablets.

Customize On Your Own

Sometimes it's hard to put to on paper what you envision for your own website. You think about making the changes yourself but the last thing you want to do is get all Miss (or Mr.) DIY and change codes only to mess up your site. That's every blogger's worst nightmare!

StudioPress came out with the Genesis Design Palette Pro so that you can customize your site without touching any code. You can modify just about anything…colors, fonts, the header, nav bar, the footer, padding…just point, click and bam…you're done.

It works with the Genesis Framework alone or with most of the child themes but their site does say more child theme add-ons will be released soon.

This tool is bad for web designers but great for anyone who wants to learn how to customize their site but aren't comfortable writing or editing codes.

Final Words

If you ask me what investments are most important for bloggers to make; if your blog is your business, I would say pay for anything that will push your brand, good hosting and a theme.

There's one more thing. If it's your first time using a StudioPress theme, you will need to install the Genesis Framework prior to installing your new child theme.

Over To You

When was the last time you purchased a new theme? Are you considering a new theme? If you are shopping around for a new theme be sure to check out StudioPress. They have a great selection of them.

If you'd rather have someone redesign your site, I'd love to help. You can check out my work here.
